Nabiha Syed

A student of International Studies at Johns Hopkins, Nabiha Syed has worked extensively with South Asian-American issues and is fascinated by minority issues in all contexts, particularly in Baltimore City. Born in Orange County, California, Nabiha has spent much time overseas doing research and fieldwork in women’s rights in Pakistan as well as microfinance and its applicability to poverty alleviation, leading to her recognition as a Rising Leader by the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, DC. On campus, Nabiha enjoys writing for several publications, including the News-Letter, the Hopkins Donkey, and The Diplomat. She also has worked with the Red Cross and a variety of other humanitarian aid groups. In her spare time, Nabiha loves to laugh too loud, find new restaurants, and read anything and everything she can get her hands on.
