Gloria Oyeniyi is from Arlington, TX and is currently a junior at Johns Hopkins University.  She is very active on campus, being the Co-President and member of the Hopkins Organization for Pre-Health Education (HOPE), the Corresponding Secretary in her chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., a committee head of the annual Minority Pre-Health Conference, a member of the JHU Gospel Choir, the secretary of her bible study group on campus, and a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.  She is also a Student Administrative Assistant to the Office of Academic Advising Student Tutoring Program.  She conducts research for the University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry at the Division of Services Research.

Gloria is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health Studies, with a Natural Science Concentration.  She plans to become a medical doctor in the near future.  Gloria is very grateful for the opportunity to partake in this project, getting to learn from and discuss with Ms. Shirley Dilworth.  She appreciates being able to learn much about the history of African Americans at Homewood, and hopes that other students might be able to learn and experience from her project and also those of the other students who have participated in this project.
